It really is a "movie in your mind" as is the graphic audio tagline. Emphasis on the music! There are so many ridiculously dramatic scenes in the Stormlight Archives and having orchestral music and nature sound effects and spren sound effects made it amazing. I personally didn't find it too slow to get into world building, and the narration and different voices for characters and music really enhanced the experience for me. My perspective? The GA stormlight version is absolutely worth it. I haven't listened to Wheel of Time, and I don't typically listen to audio books that aren't Graphic Audio, but I have listened to almost every Sanderson book on Graphic Audio. Would I be missing the slower pace and worldbuilding ? (my frame of reference is Wheel of Time for these kind of stories, and it can get quite slow sometimes, and I love that) However, I know that Stormlight is a very different beast and I don't know how well the more "snappy" and movie-like features of GraphicAudio would mesh with an Epic. One of the novels I listened to was Mistborn:The Final Empire in GraphicAudio, and I absolutely loved the format. I love Michael Kramer and Kate Reading's narration, but I fear that I won't be able to dissociate them from my experience of Wheel of Time and it would just be odd somehow.Īlso, in-between Wheel of Time books, I've been reading some fantasy and sci-fi novels to break the monotony (this didn't last long as by book 5 I was reading them back to back with no pause and I have no regrets !). I'm getting into the Stormlight Archive soon and wanted to know what the opinions were between the audiobook read by Kramer and Reading and the GraphicAudioĪ bit of context: I've listened to the Wheel of Time audiobooks for the first time last year, and it's now my absolute favourite story.

That wasn’t always the case early on in his track career. He has won numerous events especially at the sprint categories like the 100 and 200-meter dashes. If you take a look at Schwartz’s track history as a youth and the places he’s traveled to internationally, you can understand a bit of why the Browns were so high on drafting him. A track champ and international superstar as a youth That energetic kid was at least working on crafts that would lead him to be drafted by the Browns this past spring. So getting him out on the track or on a flag football team seemed to help Schwartz and his mom as he grew up. There are stories of his mom getting him involved in sports because Schwartz was always on the move inside and out of his home plowing into his living room couch when he’d race around his home. The “Flash” nickname came from middle school and Schwartz has gone by that nickname ever since. The Auburn football coach Gus Malzahn had agreed to allow Schwartz to run track too at the school, a real selling point for Schwartz who had been running since a little kid. Wisconsin and Florida offered him full rides but in the end, Schwartz picked Auburn. Schwartz hadn’t been recruited that much early in high school, but by his junior season, many more schools offered him scholarships. He was used in special teams a lot and on gadget plays as well because of that uncanny speed.Įventually, his high school won back-to-back high school football titles in Florida. He played on flag football teams in his youth and the football coaches at the high school took note of his quickness and eventually convinced Schwartz and his family to play tackle football. He really wasn’t intending on playing high school football because he was a runner too and was fast. Schwartz played high school football at American Heritage Plantation High School in Florida. Here are a few things of note in Schwartz’s past that make this new Browns highlight reel worth paying attention to this season. With the absence of Browns veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr, who is still recovering from a serious knee injury a year ago, Schwartz will continue to be a focal point of the Browns offense. He grabbed three Baker Mayfield passes for 69 yards and also had a nifty jet sweep gallop for 17 yards. The Auburn product had a nice opening game in week one when the Browns played the Kansas City Chiefs. IRREGULAR MENSTRUATIONĮndometriosis itself doesn’t cause abnormal bleeding. Combined with the stress of dealing with pain, it’s no wonder that all you want to do is rest on the couch with your hot water bottle and favorite streaming service. Inflammation is an energy drain, which contributes to your fatigue. Endometriosis triggers inflammation in the affected organs and tissue. Tired, worn out, lethargic, no matter what word you use to describe it, fatigue is another easily dismissed but disruptive symptom of endometriosis. The abnormal contractions can interfere with the final stage of the digestion process, either causing waste to stay in your bowel for too long, where it gets dry and hard, or pushing it out too quickly before most of the liquid has been absorbed. CONSTIPATION/ DIARRHEAĮndometriosis on or in your bowel can also cause constipation and diarrhea. The endometriosis-related muscle contractions can interfere with the natural contractions that push waste out of your body. Endometriosis triggers inflammation and contractions that cause pain that is typically more intense while you’re having a bowel movement. While it’s relatively rare to find endometriosis inside the bowel, the tissue can grow and cause scarring on the outside of your colon and rectum. Scar tissue is usually tighter and less flexible than healthy tissue, which can also cause pain. However, when the time comes to shed your lining, the abnormal tissue is often in places where it can’t easily leave your body.Įndometriosis also causes scarring. You might have severe cramping with your menstrual period, at other points during your menstrual cycle, or you might have continuous or chronic pelvic pain.Īdditionally, the endometrial tissue grows and swells with your menstrual cycle, just like the tissue that lines your uterus. The misplaced endometrium irritates the affected tissue and organs, causing inflammation and pain. Pelvic pain due to endometriosis is caused by the endometrial tissue that forms on your other organs. Schedule a consultation with one of our expert physicians at Maiden Lane Medical to learn more about how you can manage your symptoms and find relief from pain. However, many women assume that their pain is to be expected and just try to get on with their lives as best they can.Īre you experiencing pelvic pain, heavy periods, or discomfort during intercourse? You may be dealing with endometriosis. While mild cramping around your period is normal as your uterus contracts to expel its lining, the pain shouldn’t be so severe that it keeps you from your day-to-day activities. Endometriosis symptoms often vary between patients and are sometimes too easy to dismiss as a “normal” part of womanhood. These misplaced endometrial cells can form endometriosis lesions or abnormal growths, leading to various symptoms and complications. Endometriosis occurs when the endometrial cells, which normally line the inside of the uterus, grow outside the uterus in other areas of the body. Endometriosis is a common women’s health problem, but it often goes undiagnosed. The secrecy has fueled rumors and conspiracy theories about the group, with pieces of its various rituals leaking into public view over the course of its near two-century history. The meeting was never publicized, and the agenda items being discussed remain unknown.īut there was one thread that connected everyone present that day: they were all members of Yale’s storied, elite secret society, Skull and Bones. Late one afternoon on March 4, 2011, eight college students arrived at the White House to meet with President Obama’s top economic adviser, Austan Goolsbee. There is a 30-minute video interview of his findings.Ī recent story indicates that President Obama’s economic advisor Austin Goolsbee, a Bones member, brought 8 undergraduate members to a closed meeting. The public was unaware of Bones until Esquire Magazine ran a story on it in September 1977. There was a 1970 TV movie based on Bones, Brotherhood of the Bell. You took a deep breath before starting up the walk and climbing the stairs. If it wasn’t for the station wagon in the driveway you would have thought there was no one home. The only real difference was that the lawn was shaggy and in desperate need of a mowing and the curtains were all drawn, keeping the light out of the house. It was small and white with a decent porch. The old Kaspbrak house looked like most other houses on the street. You’d long gotten use to sneaking out when your dad was gone, and sneaking out of the hotel was easy. Or maybe it was just because he worked nights so often and he worried about you being home alone? Either way it was always getting on your nerves. Maybe it was because your mom left when you were five and it was just the two of you? You knew it was hard on him trying to take care of both of you all the time all by himself. Maybe it was because he was just an anxious person? Always on you about being home before dark and getting your flue shot. Could he really expect you to pass up the opportunity to ask questions he never answered? This morning he said he had to go meet some of his old friends, the ones you had met last night at dinner, and he explicitly told you to stay in the hotel room. You had never met your grandparents before and your dad never talked about his childhood. You knew he’d be furious if he found out you came here but you couldn’t help yourself. As you drove through town to your hotel yesterday your dad kept shaking his head and remarking on how everything still looked the same. Most of Derry still felt small and quiet like the rest of the world forgotten it. The house your father grew up inside in Derry, Maine didn’t look like it had been touched much since the 1980s. The group must once again face their biggest fears and the memories of their past, while Pennywise is deadlier than ever. The members of the Losers Club have all grown up and dispersed, but when a devastating phone call brings them back to the sleepy town of Derry, so does the return of It. It: Chapter Two, the sequel to the 2017 film based on the Stephen King novel, sees the same group of characters return - only 27 years later. Except one wash day, I scrunched a lot, and the other I scrunched minimally. To attempt to control other variables, I did my best to do the same routine, including the same products and the same techniques, on two different wash days. Also, so I could share with you guys!Ĭomparing results from minimal scrunching vs scrunching a lot However, for the sake of this blog post, I wanted to try out minimal scrunching, and then scrunching for a long time, so I could directly compare. I just tried it once, and felt it was giving me better results so I continued. I have been scrunching longer (a couple of minutes, vs maybe 10 squishes total in the past) for a few weeks. Scrunching more after you’ve added products will do less ‘damage’ to your curl clumps. Scrunching at the right part of your routine can make a big difference! Scrunching at the end of the shower without products in your hair may cause your clumps to break up badly and introduce a lot of frizz. Meaning, if curl clumps are the most important aspect to you, scrunching less may be the better option for you. However, it does produce skinnier curl clumps. I have found that scrunching for a few minutes after adding my products gives me a better cast, and more consistent waves. Make sure your hair is wet and/or conditioned as you scrunch to avoid creating frizz. If you want more consistent waves, better definition, or to better distribute your hair products, scrunch for a couple of minutes. If you want the biggest clumps possible, minimal scrunching is best. It explains (And shows) how squish to condish helps get water and conditioner over ALL of your hair, for a more successful conditioning. In a nutshell though, it explains how traditional washing/conditioning methods don’t get hair strands evenly saturated, and don’t get hair strands evenly coated in conditioner, either. It helped me to understand how/why squish to condish is a more effective way of conditioning hair. I read this article from “the science-y hair blog” titled: Conditioning technique: Squish To Condish, how it works. The purpose of squish to condish while in the shower is to spread out your conditioner, and to get water and conditioner into your hair strands. Then I step back under the showerhead for a second or two to soak it again, squish some more, etc. Then I step out of the showerhead and squish while my hair is soaking wet, until it starts to lose some water. My lower-effort version of squish to condish while in the shower is to pop my head under the showerhead for a second or two, to get it soaking wet. More tedious than what I am willing to do, frankly. I find it extremely tedious to continuously cup water into my hair. I personally also consider it ‘squish to condish’ if I scrunch my hair while it’s absolutely soaking wet. If you look up squish to condish tutorials on YouTube, you’ll see people in the shower, cupping their hand to collect water, and then taking that cupped hand to grasp a section of hair and scrunch it. Squish to condish is squeezing your hair in your hand while you have cupped water in your hand. Meaning it could be done on wet, damp or dry hair. Scrunching is any time that you grasp your hair in your hand and squeeze. Scrunching and squish to condish are not exactly the same thing. Let me get a bit more into the details first though!Īre scrunching and squish to condish the same thing? I did one wash day where I did a little scrunching, and one wash day where I did a lot of scrunching, so I could compare for you all. I’ve learned a few things, and realized a couple things about my own hair, in the last couple of months that have changed my technique. I still don’t think that was a bad technique. I would just scrunch a couple of times at the very end of my shower, scrunch each section of my hair once after applying my mousse, and then if my roots were really falling flat before I was done diffusing, I’d sometimes scrunch with a shirt (aka microplop – click for my microplopping tutorial) an additional time to avoid those flat/straight roots. I also recognized that if I walked around after my shower for quite a while, my roots would start to fall flat, and that scrunching again could help revive some waves to the top of my strands.įor about 2.5 years, my goal was to scrunch enough to form clumps but not so much as to cause my clumps to break up or get frizz. Early on when attempting the curly girl method, I felt like scrunching my hair much at all would make my hair more frizzy, and would break up my curl clumps quite a bit.Īt the same time, I did recognize that scrunching my hair right at the end of my shower helped my hair to separate from one big blob into clumps. That was a dig at Wilkins' celebration following the 2016 national championship game when he did a split that went viral.Īs for what appeared to be Davis grabbing for his chain, Newton said: "I still got my chain. I realized I was talking to a person that's known for doing splits." Newton, perhaps drawing on his college ties to Auburn, said of Wilkins, who attended rival Clemson: "You just have to realize who you're talking to, and just keep everything in the game. "And I'm just going to embrace this whole moment."Īt the end of the game, CBS cameras showed Newton getting into a heated on-field exchange with second-year Dolphins defensive tackle Christian Wilkins, and it later appeared that Miami rookie defensive lineman Raekwon Davis reached his hand toward the jewelry around Newton's neck. "I think it hit me full-circle today and for me to just kind of realize that I'm a New England Patriot. "This is the new normal, and I think it's time for everybody, including myself, to realize this is what it's like," he said. The 19 attempts were the fewest by a Patriots starting QB since Jacoby Brissett in Week 3 of the 2016 season. Still, Newton was effective when called upon to throw, finishing 15-of-19 for 155 yards, with no interceptions. "Getting a win like that isn't necessarily pretty at times, but that's good for the overall team character," Newton said. His 13 designed rushes, the final one going for 11 yards to close out the game, were the second most of his career, according to ESPN's Stats & Information (15 in 2014, Week 6 at Bengals). Over the past 35 seasons, the Patriots had just three games in which quarterbacks had multiple rushing touchdowns, all by Brady.Įven Newton might have been surprised by how much the Patriots called his number as a rusher. Even when excluding kneel-downs, Brady would have totaled just 46 rushing yards in 2019, according to ESPN's Stats & Information. To highlight the contrast, consider that Brady had 34 rushing yards all of last season. His ability as a runner led Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels to introduce zone-read concepts never used with Tom Brady, who is more adept as a pocket passer. Newton had a 4-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter, and added an 11-yard rushing score in the third. He ran the ball well, he led the team, made some good checks and adjustments." He's earned everybody's respect, really, daily," Belichick said. And the Patriots overall rushed 42 times for 217 yards, both totals their most in a season opener under coach Bill Belichick. His 15 rush attempts were the most ever by a Patriots QB in a game. Newton's 75 rushing yards on 15 carries were the most by a Patriots quarterback since 1977, when Steve Grogan had 81 rushing yards at the Buffalo Bills, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. Quarterback Cam Newton rushed for two touchdowns to help lead the new-look New England Patriots offense - powered by the ground game - past the Miami Dolphins 21-11 in Sunday's regular-season opener at Gillette Stadium. |
